Your Privacy and Control on Optio
Your data belongs to you. Optio is built around candidate control. You decide what to share, when to be contactable, and when to step back.
Optio never passes candidate details to an employer without the candidate’s knowledge. Before any contact is made, we notify and explain.
What we collect and why
When you build a wish list on Optio, you share structured information about your current role, your priorities and what would make a move worth considering. This data is used only to match you with relevant employers and to generate anonymised market intelligence.
We do not:
- Share your name or contact details with employers without your explicit consent
- Use your data for advertising
- Sell your information to third parties
- Make your profile visible to your current employer
Employer visibility
When Optio identifies a potential match, the employer sees only anonymised, structured information: sector, role level, general location band and your stated priorities. Your name, contact details and current employer are never visible to them at this stage. You can see that a match has been identified and the category of employer involved, but not the specific company name until you choose to proceed. You control whether that match moves forward. No employer can browse or search the candidate pool directly. Visibility is gated entirely on your decision to engage. Updating your preferences
You can update your wish list at any point through your candidate account. Changes take effect immediately and are applied to any matches currently in progress. If you narrow your preferences, matches that no longer fit your updated criteria are paused and you will not be progressed further without reviewing them. If you remove your profile entirely, all active matches are closed and your data is deleted in line with our retention schedule. Matching and consent
When Optio identifies a match between your wish list and an employer’s role and offer, we notify you before anything is shared. We explain why the match has been made, what the employer is offering, and what the next step would involve. You then decide whether to proceed. Your name, contact details and current employer are never passed to anyone until you give explicit consent. This process is central to how Optio works and to the principles behind matching and insight on the employer side.
