For candidates

Not looking does not mean not open. Tell us what better looks like.

Whether you are actively looking for a new role, quietly open to the right opportunity, or just curious about what better could look like, Optio helps you be matched on what you actually want, not just your job title.

Optio is a candidate platform built for skilled workers in FM, engineering, field service, technical support, operations and skilled trades. You tell Optio what would make your next move worth considering, from pay and hours to progression and culture. Optio then matches you with employers who can meet those priorities, across the full candidate market, whether you are actively looking or simply open to the right opportunity.

The problem

Are you only visible to employers when you are actively looking?

If you are actively looking for a new role, most job boards match you on job title and location. Optio goes further, matching you on what you actually want from your next move.

If you are not actively looking but would consider the right opportunity, Optio works quietly in the background, letting you set out your priorities without committing to anything.

Either way, you only hear about opportunities that genuinely match what matters to you.

Not actively looking

You’re employed and not browsing listings, but you might move for the right opportunity.

Invisible to employers

Most hiring processes only reach people who are already actively searching.

Open to the right move

Optio is for people who would consider a move, but only when it’s genuinely worth it.

Actively looking

Optio works for active jobseekers too, helping you be matched on what you actually want from your next role, not just job title and location.

Your priorities

What would make your next move worth considering?

Rather than sending you job alerts based on your job title, Optio asks a better question: what would make your next move worth considering?

You tell us your priorities. We use that information to match you with employers who can meet them, and to show employers what the talent market actually wants.

Tell us your minimum salary expectation and Optio only matches you to roles that meet it.

Control

How do you stay in control of what employers can see?

Your wish list is yours. You decide:

  • What information to share
  • When you want to be contacted
  • Whether to respond to any opportunity
  • When to update or remove your profile

Optio never passes your details to employers without your knowledge. You will always know why a match has been made and what the opportunity involves before anyone contacts you.

Matching

How does matching work and when does an employer see your profile?

When an employer using Optio has a role that matches your wish list, you will be notified. You can then decide whether to find out more.

Matches are explained clearly. You will see why the opportunity is relevant to your priorities and what the role involves. You are never pushed towards a role that doesn’t fit what you told us.

Optio also uses your wish list data anonymously and in aggregate to help employers understand what the talent market actually wants, which can lead to better job offers across the board.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this a job board?

No. Optio is not a job board. We don’t send you random job alerts. We match you with employers who can meet your stated priorities, and only contact you when there’s a relevant opportunity.

Do I have to be actively looking for a new job?

No. Optio works whether you are actively looking or not. If you are actively looking, Optio helps you find roles that match what you actually want. If you are quietly open or just curious, Optio works quietly in the background with no commitment required.

Will my current employer find out?

No. Your wish list is private. Optio never passes your details to employers without your knowledge. You control what you share and when you want to be contacted.

What kind of roles does Optio cover?

Optio focuses on skills-short sectors including facilities management, engineering, field service, technical support, operations and skilled trades, covering roles such as mobile engineers, HVAC engineers, gas engineers, electrical maintenance engineers, multi-skilled operatives, drainage operatives, FM supervisors, operations managers and skilled tradespeople.

How do I update my wish list?

You can log in to your Optio profile at any time to update your priorities, availability, or remove your profile entirely.

Does Optio share my details with employers without my consent?

No. Optio operates on a structured consent model. Your personal details are never shared with an employer until you choose to respond to a match. Employers see anonymised, aggregated intent data from the broader candidate market, not your individual profile.

How is Optio different from a recruiter calling me out of the blue?

Traditional recruiters often contact candidates without any prior indication of interest. With Optio, you set your own priorities first. Any match is based on what you told us, and you choose whether to engage. You are never cold-contacted about roles that don’t reflect what you actually want.

Build your wish list quietly

Tell Optio what would make your next move worth considering. Stay in control, stay private, and only hear about opportunities that match your priorities. Whether you are actively looking, quietly open, or just curious, there is no pressure and no spam.
